Analog CCTV wiring repairs in Laos by Kerberos

Kerberos Repair Services

repairs & maintenance

Kerberos got many calls in the past months to supply new CCTV system or  to fix an existing 3rd party system as owners were not satisfied with the quality of the footages recorded. It must be mentioned hereby sometimes CCTV footages are to be processed together with a police report of a criminal event, but are often rejected by the authorities due to the low quality – they are absolutely not suitable for the recognition of a perpetrator for example.

After the careful inspection in most cases Kerberos did not immediately attempted to sell a new system but could confirm the CCTV system itself had no significant malfunction besides some settings or firmware upgrade needs – the problem is usually hidden in the wiring networks of the CCTV.

The office recently reported a number of cameras were broken in areas across Vientiane; cameras normally used to help in investigations on crime and road accidents.

Earlier this month the office spoke to police headquarters and the ministry to establish why the cameras were breaking and how to solve the problem.

Vientiane Police Office Deputy Chief, Lieutenant Colonel Phommachan Suanbounma, said 51 cameras were down due to technical problems, high temperatures in control rooms and cables damaged in fires. “We have had to work harder to follow targets of crime as well as road accidents and traffic jams in Vientiane after the cameras broke,” he said.

Dusty camera lenses, access control firmwares thirsty for updates, new versions of governing softwares to install and launch, expanding number of users to include in time and attendance systems… “all this headache was not clearly explained before!” – a common complaint heard from lot of clients.

In early 2011 Embassy of Australia was decided to employ qualified and reliable service provider partner for the maintenance of the years ago installed BOSCH CCTV system of the Embassy compound in Vientiane. After tendering and set up 3 months probation period for the maintenance, Kerberos earned to sign long term agreement with the Embassy and opened new market segment in the Lao PDR. So far there was no company offering reliable and professional maintenance for security systems and their subsystems – like wirings, surge protection, backups etc.
