Gunnebo to provide Immigration Gates to Sofia Airport

Gunnebo, together with Atos of Bulgaria is to provide 4 Immigration Gates (ImmSec) to Sofia Airport, Bulgaria.
The Gunnebo ImmSec is a specifically designed double gate interlock solution used for the automated validation of travellers at immigration checkpoints and border crossings. The slim and ergonomic design allows the ImmSec to be installed in single or multiple lane configurations providing an open feel to the traveller without compromise to security.The gate solution agreement was signed on 9th April 2012 for the implementation of four ImmSec gates including face recognition and fingerprint biometric capture and verification devices. Atos Bulgaria is the system integrator of the solution, which includes the delivery of Immigration Gates from Gunnebo, biometrics and the software for the Border Control. The ImmSec gates will be fully operational by 1st of July 2012 at Sofia Airport.

“Following research and successful trials with Atos at its biometrics centre in Graz, Gunnebo is delighted with this collaborative success. The major installation of the ImmSec gates at Sofia Airport is the basis for further research for the Future Border Control Project, which aims to increase passenger throughput while maintaining the highest level of security,” said Mark Geering Gunnebo’s Business Development Manager, Mass Transit Systems.
